Spinach loves Melbourne Open House

Friday, June 24, 2011

We would like to congratulate Melbourne Open House for putting together a fantastic event. Coming up on July 30/31, Melbourne Open House invites all lovers of our great city to explore 75 of our town’s buildings for free.

Melbourne House opening 2011

Spinach had the pleasure of being at the opening last night, held at The Former Land Titles Office. A wonderful evening of inspirational guest speakers, cool jazz tunes and a guided tour of the fire-proof stronghold.

The Former Land Titles Office

It’s well worth checking out melbourneopenhouse.org and planning your own architectural tour.

Spinach tip: The Manchester Unity building.

Built between 1929 and 1932. It was the tallest building in Australia and the first to have escalators. In 1993 Manchester Unity merged with the Australian Natives Association to form Australian Unity. Hope to see you there...
